Wow! It’s been almost a month since I posted part 1! Well, let’s get part 2 started, right? I’ll be honest here, and I spread out my favorite songs among all 4 parts that I will post. Hopefully, from all the 4 parts, one of them might help someone. I apologize if you were already familiar with most of these songs, but, that’s a good thing! You know some inspiring songs! <3
Andy Grammer – Keep Your Head Up
“This is just a journey, drop your worries; You’re gonna turn out fine.”
I will be very, very blunt here. This is an amazing song. I love it very much. I find it catchy, upbeat, nice to listen to and sing along with. The message is beautiful too. Don’t let life get you down. Bad stuff happens, but keep your head up, keep your spirit high and happy, and then you can relax because in the end, everything is going to be okay. Sometimes bad things open the door to amazing opportunities.
Owl City – Shooting Star
“Fill the darkest night with a brilliant light ’cause it’s time for you to shine brighter than a shooting star.”
This was hard for me. It was very hard for me to find a part of the song the quote because, I simply love this entire song. It gives me goosebumps and everything. It’s just… I’m almost speechless here, but it’s a great song. Don’t forget to be at your best potential. Don’t let the negativity of the world get to you. Don’t let people put your fire out, just burst. Let yourself burst from inside out–in a good way, of course–and share your uniqueness with the world. It’s time for you to shine!
Tenth Avenue North – Let it Go
“You say if I lose my life that’s when I find my soul. You say let it go.”
Off the bat, I will let you know this is a religious song. I don’t mind it though. I think what the song is trying to say is a good thing, no matter if you believe in God or not, no matter your religion, I think it’s important to know that really, sometimes, you have to just let it all out. Let it go. Go nuts and let it all out. You don’t need to be around people, but don’t hold your feelings in. There will be moments in your life that you need to hit rock bottom. After all, once you hit the bottom, the only way to go is up, right? Just let it go, let it pass, and soon enough you’ll be back on your feet.
P!nk – Perfect
“Pretty, pretty please, if you ever ever feel like you’re nothing, you’re fuckin’ perfect to me.”
Well, the video, per say, has a nice message, although I feel the need to say don’t let a child see it… if you’re really sensitive. It shows her arm cut, towards the end. I don’t know. I don’t find it much of a big deal, but there might be people who feel uncomfortable. The song, however, is very nice. Even though you can go through hardships in your life, even though you can mess up, even though sometimes the whole world just seems to be against you… It’s important to realize that you are perfect. No matter what has happened, everything you have been through makes you who you are today. You are perfect. Just hang in there, do what you can to feel better, fight those bad feelings inside… and you’ll make it through.
Common Sense – Never Give Up
“Never give up, ’cause things are gonna get rough. I’ve got to keep on moving.”
Nice reggae style song that pretty much is upbeat and tells you to not give up. Keep moving on. Life will be hard here and there and honestly, we won’t be here forever. We have to make the best with the time we have, we have to keep living, do something useful with our time instead of fighting each other. But overall, never give up.
Thiago Iorc – Story of a Man
“You spend most time trying to figure out why you can never figure out just what you’re trying to figure out. Spend more time living.”
Rather long quote, but that’s okay. This song though, it’s relaxing, calm, soothing, gentle to the ears… It’s really nice to listen to when you want to feel better. I guess it isn’t specifically a song that says “hey, you’re amazing!” but more of a song that says “Live your life.” Don’t only talk, listen. Don’t just judge people, respect people. It’s a good song with a good message.
Miranda Cosgrove – Leave it All to me
“There’s no chance unless you take one.”
Okay, I will admit that I already liked Miranda Cosgrove from Drake & Josh, and I watched a few iCarly episodes. But on a more important note, this song is honestly very upbeat and has a wonderful positive ring to it! Just live, take a chance to be happy, you can make it, and everything will be amazing once you do. Be strong and be amazing! Be wonderful! Try to look at the brighter side of the things that happen in your life and who knows how amazing you can be.
