When I Find You

Untitled-2 - Copy

Every day, before my dreams
I close my eyes, but I don’t sleep.
I fly above the ground, it seems,
Looking for something to keep.

When I find you, I’ll be complete.
When I find you, I’ll be at rest.
But just before my night’s retreat,
I realize it’s for the best.

I did not know who you were.
I did not know what to expect.
Alone again, I felt the blur
The blur of myself’s respect.

The mirror shows me a reflection,
Of myself and something more.
I tell you it’s my perception,
That kept us both at war.

I find you, and now I’m clear.
I find you, and now I see,
I didn’t need someone here,
I just needed to find “me”.
