Under the moonlight the world doesn’t feel so dark.
It lights up the world without leaving a mark.
Its soft, gentle touch covers all the land,
Bringing about serenity with its steady-held hand.
A feeling of calmness under all its kingdom,
Spreading an ever-growing sensation of freedom;
But even in the moonlight, shadows are cast,
They stretch and reach back towards the past,
Serving as a reminder that the moon’s glow
Will be gone in the morning of tomorrow
As the night rolls, the moon will disappear
And with its departure returns our fear
For even in sunlight, clear as day,
We cannot keep our shadows away.
